The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

Since graduating in 1983, I, like the rest of my classmates, kept busy at first with career and then family. For the next 11 years I worked in Lancaster, PA as a paramedic. During that time, I returned to Millersville University and obtained a second degree in Biology in 1991. This allowed me to fulfill a lifelong dream to become a physician. In 1996 I graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine after which I completed my residency training at what was Penn State Geisinger Medical Center. In 1999 I began my career as an Emergency Medicine Physician. Since then, I have worked in Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia and finally, back to Pennsylvania. I've also been married, then divorced, but have a wonderful step-daughter of whom I am very proud and love her as if she were my own. Eventually, I hope to work my way back to my hometown of State College, PA (yes, people really are born and live in Happy Valley!) My proudest moment as a Penn State Alumni came when my father, James M. Elliott (Class of '54) was honored posthumously for his 52 years of service by having a building named in his honor. For this reason and many more, I will always be proud to be a Penn Stater. Go Lions!! Sincerely, Dr. Nina Elliott
